Jerez de la Frontera - Famous for the sweet wine that the British pronounce "Sherry", the town of Jerez is a beautiful place to visit not only for its famous 'bodegas' (wine cellars) but also for its fine horses. The town is home to the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and is a must for horse lovers.

Cádiz - Originally settled in by Phoenicians and said to be the oldest city in Europe, is well worth a visit for its historic old town with winding streets, its Moorish cathedral.

Roman Ruins - Under the Roman Empire this part of Andalusia was called Betica. Chipiona itself was named after the Roman General 'Quinto Servilius Ceipión'. The best preserved ruins in this region are at Italica, the birth place of "Hadrian", and also in Bolonia, an important Roman seaport on the Cadiz coast, close to Chipiona and surounded by beautiful sand dunes.

Chipiona, Rota and Sanlucar de Barrameda - These towns  provide many attractions for the visitor. Christopher Columbus set sail on one of his voyages to America from here and the towns are a maze of old picturesque winding streets. Chipiona and Sanlucar are famous among Spaniards for the shellfish that is served here. Boat trips to Seville and along the Doñana National Park coast are possible from here.

Chipiona itself also provides cultural activities. In February/March students have the chance to see the famous carnival with its elaborate parades.

In June students have the option of seeing the customary forest fair of the Romería, traditionally celebrated to commemorate the end of the harvesting season for grapes.
